Now the child was wiser than any being that God had made. And she said to Eve, “Has God really said that you must not play on the swing?”
And Eve said to the child, “That is what the adults say. They say that if we even touch the swing, we shall surely die of embarrassment.”
The child took Eve by the hand and led her to the swing set.
“What the adults do not know is that if you play on the swing set you shall not die but you will be like God, knowing goodness and joy.”
So Eve sat on the swing and gave herself a mighty push. She felt the rush of wind in her face; she saw her toes touch the clouds; she inhaled the scent of jasmine – and her eyes were opened.
Eve waved to her husband.
“Come and play on the swing!”
